Chicago MSA Job Growth

The “Professional & Business Services” employment sector experienced the largest percentage improvement in Chicago over the past eight years. Only a few of the nation’s largest MSAs outperformed the Chicago market in net job creation during that time period. Overall, professional & business services jobs currently account for nearly 18 percent of all jobs in the Chicago MSA. The category ranks among the state’s highest-paying, with employees in this sector averaging an annual salary of $71,752.
