More than 22 years ago, I worked with this guy who recruited me away from a boutique PR firm in Chicago to do media relations at an Industrial REIT. I had no clue what I was getting into. I traded national brands for warehouses. I spent more than eight years at First Industrial in Chicago and Los Angeles. I started in media relations, created the company’s first intranet while in IT, managed corporate operations and then west coast operations. After heading east, I was fortunate to work at a fancy Private Equity firm in Boston while caring for my mom. I was oblivious to any recession (or anything happening in the outside world) and thankful for the time I was able to share with my mom before saying goodbye. I headed back to Chicago to work for Sears Holdings managing a design team and then ultimately the workload/resource management for 200 creatives in their online business unit. The pull from commercial real estate was still strong, and I joined CBRE as their Marketing Director. After almost 2 years, I was promoted to Director of Marketing Innovations in NYC and then I joined New England as their Marketing Director. A reorganization allowed me to refocus and take a break from the grind and spend some time doing philanthropic work with Last Hope K9 in Boston, and then some marketing consulting in Woodstock, Vermont. That guy who introduced me to warehouses called me up and asked me to join his team. Leaving my family back East was a tough decision, but I wouldn’t relocate to work with anyone other than Joe Bronson and being part of NAI Hiffman aligns with my personal values. I don’t feel like I am an employee, I feel like I am connected to the mission. I have only been a broker for a year, but my 20+ years of experience allows me to connect with clients and prospects on a different level. My approach is strategic and creative while working to build relationships where I am TRUSTED to find the right solutions. I focus in O’Hare, West Cook, DuPage and Elgin submarkets.
There are a few things that make me happy, the first is getting back to Boston to see family. You can find me road tripping in my VW R32 on weekends, hopefully avoiding speeding tickets! And, while I haven’t been active in Chicago, I am passionate about dog rescue and have a soft spot for little senior dogs. I used to be very active fostering with Last Hope K9 in Boston.
